Founded by Bethany Boles Hewitt in 2002, Southern Graces started out of passion for all things that Bethany loved: food, flowers, and parties! The name is a combination of two things Bethany was very familiar with: being a Southern girl, and creating something to be proud of out of gratitude for the many graces that God offers us all daily. After (now) husband, Executive Chef Christopher Hewitt joined the Southern Graces team in 2007, they made the Lowcountry home and have continued to push the limit on creating some of the Southeast’s most spectacular bashes to include the reception for The Lord Bishop of London, the CMT Awards, & the launch of Porsche 911.

Food brings people together, and here in the South, it has always been the beginning and the end for any gathering. It forges bonds. It creates a taste memory that can bring us back to our childhood or move us forward in trying new flavors and combinations that bring the world right to our plate.
Even though design and many other details are part of every event, we take the quality of our food for events and in our restaurant very seriously. Chef Christopher Hewitt leads the team with his extraordinary experience including working with Bobby Flay at Mesa Grill for 12 years, competing on Iron Chef, and being featured on the CBS Early Morning show, just to name a few of his credentials. Chef Bethany Boles Hewitt continues to create innovative hors d’oeuvres and intoxicatingly delicious desserts that the culinary team executes flawlessly, with features including Food Network, CMT, & Lifetime’s Get Married.
And of course, the food itself is of the highest standards possible. Menus are created with the seasons in mind so many of our ingredients can be purchased fresh and locally. We pride ourselves on our farm-to-table efforts as we do not limit ourselves, or you, to a “set” menu.
Just as we discuss the design and other details of your event, we discuss the foods you love, along with what you have in mind for your wedding or event, and then we create a custom menu specific to your desires. It’s so boring to think of a set catering menu when there are so many flavors and deliciously detailed foods that can be designed just for your event! We are happy to help you organize your entire wedding, provide just the catering, or simply step in where needed.
